New Mexico Artists Then & Now, 2015
THE Magazine commissioned me, in late 2014, to photograph New Mexico artists and pair the images I took with photographs of their younger selves. This series appeared in the February-March 2015 issue of THE Magazine.
Family Album, Chicago, 1992-1994
In 1994 I was awarded an Illinois Art Council Grant. Thanks to this award, I was able to produce a series of large digital (Iris) prints that were based on the work that I did a year earlier for my thesis project at the Institute of Design. For the thesis project I photographed families—straight, gay and blended—in my North side Chicago neighborhood. I also taped interviews with them and rephotographed their family snapshots. In the Iris prints, I tried to synthesize all the information I had gathered over the year the project took place.
Baseball Spring Training, 1977-1980
Thanks to Roger Angell of The New Yorker magazine, I was given access and permitted to photograph baseball spring training in Florida from 1977-1980. The photographs from this project are in the permanent collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, in Cooperstown, New York.
